FAQ

Why should I bother entering a/your screenwriting competition? / What is the purpose of the contest?
The Biz of Screenwriting Contest aims to involve screenwriters in the writing assignment process, an oft-overlooked avenue of employment for screenwriters in the industry. By honing this area of expertise, they increase their options for employment.

Why do we only accept electronic entries?

It’s easier for everyone involved. It doesn’t use any paper, either.

How do I convert my file into .PDF format?
Go here and follow the online instructions. Alternatively, download this software.

Do my scenes have to be registered?
No. As entries are only short scenes, their viability for plagiarism is limited.

We accept and welcome all genres as long as they adhere to the criteria for each level of participation. Contest winner and finalist scenes will be placed into one and only one genre category in the Producers Only Section at the conclusion of the contest.

What elements of the scene are taken into consideration during the judging?
Each level has particular criteria by which it will be judged, which will be listed in the password-protected Contest Participation Area upon announcement of each level.

Do I get any feedback for my entries?
Contestants will receive feedback for their submissions at all levels of the contest.

What are the Rules of the contest?
The Rules are displayed here.

What forms of payment do you accept?
PayPal will be the only accepted method of payment.

Yes.

Can I make a change to a submission after it’s been submitted?
